The lifecycle of the Chequered Copper butterfly, in extended reality

Butterfly Conservation SA and creative producer Rosina Possingham present Herding Caterpillars – an extended reality experience that explores the life cycle of the chequered copper butterfly. Based on a 2021 theatrical performance, Herding Caterpillars is now brought to life in the virtual world through a host of delightful characters.

Discover the virtual reality experience at the State Library of South Australia’s Institute Building from 14 to 16 October, or check out the augmented reality during Nature Festival from 6 to 16 October. AR is at three CBD locations South Australian Museum lawns, MOD., Pakapakanthi/Victoria Park, where the chequered copper butterfly was re-discovered in 2011.
